School is back in!

Finally, after all that snow, the kids are back in school! Thought I might lose my mind with them being home for so long!

I don't know about you, but I can not seem to keep up with all the papers. etc, that come homefrom school! Especially those that you end up needing a week later! Well, here's my solution! And I really hope that I can stick with it!

I got this at Ikea! Love it! The paper is Cosmo Cricket (LOVE!) and it is Mod Podged on there! I think it will be great! My fingers are crossed that this is just what I need to keep up!

For the last year, my hubby has been asking me (whining to me) about when I was going to make him a hat. The first one I made, well, it fit one of the kids. So, fast forward to now. Hubs was getting ready for a snowboarding trip and I told him a week before that he would have a hat by the time he left. I started the hat Friday night (he was leaving on Sunday)...cutting it close. Saturday night I stayed up determined to finish it...well, almost. Woke up on Sunday, got right down to the knitty gritty. I was determined! They were leaving at 1:00. Then I hit a snag...I couldn't find my double-poited needles! Yikes! So, off to Michael's I went. On a slippery, snowy road. I am crazy! Got back, and somehow, I finished as they were loading the car! Wow! Talk about taking it to the last minute. But he loves it, so it was worth it!

I found the pattern on Ravelry, it was called the Man Hat. (Although I am about to start one for me!) It was so easy! And it was my first real pattern, knit4, purl1, all the way! Then 2 rows of decreasing! Nice! Anyway, I will certainly do this again! I love it!

Ok, off to get my craft on! While the Hubby is away, the Mama will play!

I am so not a plan-ahead person. I want to be better. I have grand plans for each holiday. It just never comes together ahead of time. Oh well, that's me!

Here is my Valentine Project that I made last night for my boys. Yep, that's right the night before! Last year, my chick Beth, made cute mailboxes for her girls. This year, when I saw them at Target, I just had to pick them up & try it myself!

I fell in love with this paper as soon as I saw it! It is from Close to my Heart, and I got it at my last crop. Now I need more of it! I was going for a boy-ish Valentine Mailbox, and I think I got it!

They loved them! I left them on the mantle and it only took them a moment to find them this morning! I made up a cute baggie with some M&M's and Twix inside! Needless to say, those baggies are empty now!

Glad I got them done! But my poor hubby didn't get anything handmade this year! Sometimes grand plans just don't happen! I gave him a bag of Jelly Belly Jelly Beans in the Yummy Cold Stone Creamery flavors! But, sadly, no card. Oh well! There's always the next holiday, maybe if I start now!

A Valentine Project

I saw this wreath over at Simple Sage, and I immediately knew that I HAD to do it. No other option! I never have Valentine's Day decoration, so I am happy to be getting some things done! In fact, the only time that I even have a wreath on my door is at Christmas! So, I am ready to change, one decoration at a time...

How cute is this?! It looks very lovely in person!

Seriously, I made this for $1 out-of-pocket! I got a bamboo wreath at the dollar store. I already had the crepe paper, ribbon, and the much-neglected hot glue gun! This was so much fun! I put the kiddos to bed, put on a good movie that I'd seen a hundred times (The Notebook~Yummy Ryan Gosling!), and I got to work! My husband was very impressed when I was done! We hung it on the door at 11 o'clock that night! And I am happy to say that my love affair with my hot glue gun is back! I have missed it so much, I just didn't know it!

So there you have it! On to the next project!

Getting down to the knitty gritty!

Ok, forgive my crazy typos in those last posts, it was quite late....

Finally...some knitting on the ole bloggy! So this is me, wearing a cowl (or "gator neck" as my Beff calls it!) that I finished knitting for myself last Friday night when i was freezing my butt off! I havn'e hardly wanted to take it off since then! It is so cozy!

This is actually the second one that I made, since I had made one for my BFF for Christmas! It is knitted with Organic Cotton yarn and boy, is it soft! I love touching it! It is a touch big, since I am a rebel and used no pattern! That's right...no pattern for me! But it was my plan all along to put those beautiful pins that I inherited from my Grandma on display on my scarves and such, so there! You can't tell in this photo, but I actually had this sweet little bird pin that matched perfectly! I don't know about you, but when I wear or use something that is Grandma's, I can really feel her with me! Just like when I get the bread out of sa-weet(!) Bread Box I also brought home this year from her house. Sometimes I have to say "Hi Grandma!" Oops! Sorry, ramblin' about my Grandma!

OK, that's enoug of that for the day! Maybe I'll post again tomorrow! I've been getting crafty, and it feels so good!!!!

Ok, are you ready for this? I am about to have more posts in one day than I have in the last 6 months!!! Why, you ask? Nothing like a Papertrey Challenge to bring out my deisre to get creative! So, even though I am having a party at my house in less than 48 hours, I spent the bulk of the afternoon in my crafty space! Oh well, I'll clean like a maniac tomorrow!

So, hold on to your hats, here comes the first of 7 posts! The challenge was to create a birthday card for PTI, who are celebrating their 3rd Birthday! Woohoo! There are actually 9 images that I could have used, but I ran out of time...Still that's about 6 more cards than I've made in any single day of 2010 so far!

Feelin' the Love!

Ok, so I have been gone for far too long again! I swear that I really am trying to get on track! I've been gettin' crafty, but have not had the time to share it!

Along comes Beth yesterday with the cutest project ever on her blog, and I knew I had to do it! SO, I started last night and finished this afternoon! How in the world did I do that? Well, first, I kinda cheated a bit, and just did a top stitch on each heart (if that's what it is called? Only sew every now & then, so I don't know what everything is called!). That way I could just sew it and not have to worry about turning it inside out. We'll see how that frays!!!

Beth did hers with materials that she had in her stash, and so I knew that I could, too! I found a set of 3 tea towels that were meant to be aprons! How great are those colors!!! I also found some padding from long ago and used that! Next, it was a search thru all of my buttons! They were crying out to be a part of this! The rest is just ribbons and such!

Here is half~ I really loved them all, but my favorite is the one with the knitted flower! I humorously thought I'd knit them all! Ha! It's no wonder that these kind of things end up unfinished in my craft room! I set my sights a little too high! Lucky for me, this time I realized it and gave up after one! I'm glad to have that one, though!

This was super fun! I may try again for an Easter banner! Maybe with some of these same colors! At any rate, I am so thankful that Beth got me off my butt & craftin'! Now to explain to my hubby why nothing else got done today! HA! Have a great one & I'll see you soon! Really, I mean it this time!

I'm back, again...I hope! I was all ready to get back to the bloggie, got crafty, took pics, and then...could not find the cord that connects my camera to the computer. Bummer! Well, tonight I finally found it! Yippee!

So, I wanted to dress those cuties up to use as favors at my Thirty-One Parties this month. They were cute to start with, but then came some scrappy supplies and...TADA!How cute are these?!? Everyone loved getting them! Something so simple, made special with paper crafting! (Again, sorry about the blurry photos!) Hope you're having fun getting ready for the holidays, too!

down the dirt road...

So, here is an actual scrapbook layout that I did tonight! Wow! That felt great! I haven't actually scrapped a page in many months. I found a new blog that really inspired me to get back into my scrappy workouts, it's call ScrapFIT. Hopefully it will increase my scrappy activity! Maybe even lose a few pounds - out of the stash of lovely scrap stuff that is building all around me! I need to lose a few lbs, otherwise I'll never be able to pack for my upcoming weekend away!

Ok, I'm straying! Check out the site! The current workout challenge is to scrap a page with some Cosmo Cricket & no people in the pics. I immediately thought of a tribute to some loved ones that I've lost. This layout is about the road leading to Grandma's house. What a wonderful place to go...I can smell the country fried steak from here. Boy, I wish that I could. It brings me to tears just to think of all that this house and its inhabitants brought to my life.

Here it is...The pic isn't the best, click on it if you need a closer view! I love these pictures. The one of the mailbox was taken by my lovely friend Andi, and it lived in my office until earlier tonight (the layout was crying out for it!). I used 2 papers from Mr. Campy, along with random cardstock. Of course, I had to throw in some buttons, and I actually used my Cricut! What a workout! Now off to bed!

Last night I finally got some favors done for my Pink Purse Party Friday night! Should be lots of fun!

So, here are my 5X8 notepads! I found out about them here, awesome blog, check it out! I tried to do them a couple different ways, so people could have a choice! I knew that I needed some to be Pink, but maybe not everyone wants a really pinky one!

I love them all! SO glad to have a little creative mojo back! And seriously, are those not the cutest owls ever!

Ok, here I go trying to get better with posting, so 2 weeks in row is a good start, I guess! And I am trying to make cards that I actually need, rather than making a bunch of "hello" cards or something like I usually do. Having said that, this is a "hello" card, but I do have a person in mind for it, so there! Plus I really wanted to use my new Papertrey Set, Everyday Button Bascis! It is so cute, and so hasn't been used as much as it should have!

So, this is my entry into CPS this week! Maybe I'll try to get in a few more cards or notepads this morning!

So, last week it was my Dad's card, and this week, one for my Mama! It is going to be on time, I swear it! See, I love to make cards, but I STINK at getting them into the mailbox! (Also at having the right one already made! Must make a stash!)

I made this card for the CPS sketch, my fave! This week they are giving away some Stampin' Up, and I've never had any so it'd be lovely to win some! This paper was from a pad of paper that I got years ago, so I am really glad that I thought to use it today! I love the colors! And just for good measure, I added some Stickles (you know I LUV 'em!) to some of the centers of the flowers! Love how it turned out!

Ok, so my Dad's birthday is tomorrow, and I just made this card & got it off to him today. Problem, he lives in SC, and it takes 3 days for snail mail to travel all the way down there! I have been trying to get it together all week, and even though my hubby has been gone all week, I just couldn't get my juices flowing! Finally, last night, at 1:30 am, I finished it! Here it is, my entry for CPS this week:

Ok, so in case you were wondering, and even if you weren't...I have been crazy busy & haven't been able to make a single card in months! I just love impatiens, aren't they so pretty! On to the card, I got this stamp the week that I joined 31, and finally got the chance to ink 'er up yesterday. Lucky for me, Beth was over with her wonderful Copics, and that is how the image got so pretty! Can't wait to do it again! Check out the close-up! I even used Stickles in the center of the flower! SO much fun!

A buncha cards from sketches!

I have been a busy lady this morning! I did cards for 3 different sketch challenges! My first card is for CPS. I love these colors together, I may have to make more with this sketch, and use different sentiments!

Next is my card for 365 cards! I changed it up a little, and made it work with this cute rocket paper for one of Andrew's friends! I can't believe they are all turning 5 this year! Crazy! On the inside, it says "Have a blast!" I thought it was cute, and I plan to make more for my kiddie stash!

Which brings me to card #3, which perhaps I should have done first, since it is an anniversary card for my hubby and my anniversary is TODAY!!! Yikes! Real nice, huh? This is for 2 Red Bananas Banana Split Sunday! Their site is really cool, I've been lurking there for a while and thought I'd take a stab at it! Wow, that really sounds like I was stalking... Anyway, I like this ice cream stamp, and the saying just struck me as right...so I just wrote it out! Thank goodness it is a good handwriting day! I think it turned out cute!Well, I think I'd better get to some housework, before the dear hubby starts to think I've left for good. On our big day, no less! Hope all of you out there in cyberland are having a great weekend!

A little Fun Frilled Card!

I found a new site with some cute challenges called Fun Frilled, and so, of course, I had to make a card! Today! Right when I found it! I went to tell Ed that I was going to make just one card, to promise that I would not disapper forever into Card Land, when what did he say? Well, what kind of card are you making? What knid of card do you need? An anniversary card, he says. Well, guess what people, tomorrow is my anniversary. So, for a moment, I thought, is this crazy man asking me to make a card for myself?! No worries, my outlaws also have an anniversary this week, and they are coming for dinner any minute!!! So, no card for me, just for his parents. I'll probably just get a kiss on the cheek. And maybe a flower or two!

Onto the card I originally set out to make....it is for a friend! I started this card a while back at a class, and doctored it up today to my liking! Here goes!

CPS 115 ~ Finally!

Ok, so I finally had time tonight to get my area (aka the dining room table) a little organized, so that maybe I could find my supplies! Yippee! So, now here it is , my CPS sketch for this week! I am knee deep in the end of the school year for Andrew, he is graduating from Pre-School next Friday! We are so proud! Oops, got off track! So, instead of something Apple-y, i am going with Berries this year, and giving some Tastefully Simple Granola Goodness Jam Bars with Rhubarb Strawberry Fruit Spread! YumYum! So, I wanted my card to coordinate, of course! I was trying to wait until I could get together with Beth to use her cute PTI strawberry stamps, but once I spotted this paper, I was SOLD! The whole pad is so beautiful! It is from K&Co. (love their paper so much!) I also used ink & cardstock from Papertrey, and ribbon from my stash. And for extra credit, I even made matching embellishments for the envelopes, oh they are too cute! (sorry, no pictures)

Anyway, here it is!

It is a really bad picture, but hey, it's 10:30 pm, and if I didn't take it tonight, who knows when it would have gotten done!?

Renovations are complete!

So, we re-did our bathroom sometime last year, but never put anything on the walls. And, then at Christmas, Ed hung up a decoration in there with a HUGE screw!!! He always hangs things up like that, and it makes me CRAZY!! SO, I've been trying to figure something out for a while, and I started this project months ago. Last night, while watching AI, I finally finished it & even hung it on the wall!

Ed says now he thinks I really am an artist! That is extra nice coming from him!

This frame has been in my closet since Andrew's first birthday. (If you're keeping track, he's about to turn 5!) I saw it there a few months ago, and the wheels started turning! I drew one of the dinos and a pine tree from the curtain, and cut out all the different pieces from cardstock. The palm tree might be my fave part! I used chalk on the leaves, I used a background stamp to put the "X" marks on the trunk. And I used some new buttons for my coconuts! I love it!

Then came the frame. The mat was just white & I thought that it was WAY too much white, so I got out 4 sheets of coordinating paper, and went to work piecing it together! I inked all the edges to help it come together, and it is even better than I thought it would be!

Now, back to making cards! (Or really wrapping Hershey bars, as I now have an order for 100 big ones to fill!!!) Who wants to come over & help me cut ovals???? Anyone???? OK, then, I'll just get started, and you just come on over when you can!

Lotsa Challenges!

First, here is my card based on this week's sketch at CPS. I just found these owl stamps yesterday, and I LOVE them. The idea to use them in the background just came to me this morning, and I adore how it turned out! Everything (except the buttons) are from Papertrey. Love all their stuff!

So, I fell behind on my 365 card challenges, but I went ahead and did the first few days of May all at once today. On May 1st, you had to use a number on your card, so here is my card for one of Andrew's friend's birthday that is next week!

On May 2nd, the challenge was to use 8 flowers on the card, so here is a card for my dear friend's birthday! I love the flowers on this paper! It also was made using the leftovers from today's challenge, just slightly different!

That brings me to Sketchy Sunday. Here is the card to go with my Mother's Day gift that I finished a few days ago. This one is for my mother, and I really think she'll love it!

Spring Inspiration!

The gals over at Papertrey are having a little contest inspired by Spring & the Design Team! You should definitely check out their creations. My project was inspired by Michelle Wooderson's color palette of pinks & greens. Her stuff is always beautiful!

So, I have been trying to get my act together for Mother's Day, especially since my Mom is 700 miles away and I never get her gift to her on time. I have been working on a nice nugget tin, since I just got my Limitless Labels Stamp set and Nugget Tins from Papertrey Ink this week!
First, I lined the tin using my beautiful Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday paper (must get more of that!!), and then put in my nuggets, added some buttons, some Raspberry Fizz Ribbon, and a cute tag I made using many random stamps!

I attached the tag to the ribbon with these cute little mini clothes pins that I found at the Dollar Spot! I knew those would be fun when I saw them!

I am still working on a few other projects for Mother's Day, I'll post those later!

Tales from the trails & more...

So, I have been very busy getting crafty instead of cleaning my house, thus after posting this, I will be spending the rest of the day working around my house! Probably outside in the garden, which will not really help with the 5 loads of clean laundry that are waiting patiently for me on the couch...but, that can wait for Biggest Loser & American Idol tonight!

Here's what I've been up to....

First, Ed & I have been talking about keeping track of our camping trips for years, so yesterday I finally did something about it! I started with a 97 cent composition notebook, and covered it with some cute K & Co. paper and orange cardstock. Then I cut out the images from some more K & Co. paper that I have loved since I bought it last summer, but never used until now! I came up with a snappy title (I think!), and stamped it on! For the insides I actually used my sewing machine (finally) to make some swell pockets to keep track of whatever needs to be kept track of. It's certainly not my best sewing, but like some many things for camping, as long as it is sturdy, we can use it!

I am thinking of making more of these, and actually opening up my Etsy store and selling them, what do you think? (Of course, I would try to sew better on those!)

Then, this morning, I went over to 365 cards, and found that the challenge today was to make a "missing you" card. So, this is my attempt at that! I used stickles on my letters, so of course, I love it even more! the frog has nothing to do with missing anyone, but I love him, so he's in!

I got back late last night from another great weekend of camping, so it was fitting to find this card sketch featuring a fish over at 365 cards! Ed & Roo went fishing on Saturday, but came up empty-handed! Oh well, Andrew helped with this cad, so maybe that counts as his first catch! (Not quite!) Our Garden Party ~CPS 112

How appropriate that I am using my Garden party scrap pad for my cards lately, since yesterday we spent most of the day getting our garden set up! Gotta love boys!

It was so nice to be out in the warm weather after all the dreary rain we've had lately! We really put the kids to work, as you can tell! But mostly, they were looking for worms! Great fun, I tell ya!

Here is my card for the CPS challenge! Thought I would get it done early, since all my stuff was out from yesterday's card! This card really came together quite easily! I used flower stickers from the scrap pad, but spruced them up with brads & stickles! I like it alot!

Sweet Girly Card ~ CPS #111

I am only taking a minute away from the sun to post this, since I never got a chance earlier in the week! (And I need 5 minutes away from my kids and hubby who are making me crazy ~ OOPS, I mean working nicely in my new garden!)

I love this card! It is so sweet and girly, something I never get to work on with 2 boys! It was my first attempt at paper piecing, which I think looks great! And I used chalk, stickles, and a scallop corner rounder! Fun to pull out the things that have been getting forgotten lately!

Just realized what a not good picture this is, but you get the idea!

Two posts in one week! And there is no challenge involved! Aren't you shocked?!

I just finished a card that I started a while back. It was one of those projects that wasn't going the way I wanted it to, so I put it away for a bit. I am glad I did, because now I love it!

I love that chick! Even though it came with an Easter set, I know I will keep using it all year long! She is so cute! The ribbon wasn't originally part of the plan, but it really matches great. and finishes off the card!

Okey dokey, I am off to pack for our first camping trip of the year...tomorrow! Nothing like waiting until the last minute!

CPS Challenge 110

So, here is my entry into the CPS Challenge this week.

I needed an anniversary card to send to my Aunt & Uncle who celebrated their 40th anniversary last weekend with a lovely party thrown by their children. I, of course, was not there. Stuck in NJ, after 2 trips down south last month! Oh well, no biggie! Got a lot of work done over the weekend, since we are getting ready for the first camping trip of the season! WOOOHOOO!

But I digress....The card is made with my fabulous Papertrey cardstock, the picture does not do the color any justice, I've got to work on that. It was a fun card to create! And I used Glitter - yippee! On the inside I stamped "Always" to finish it up! I love it!

Then I made a cute little Easter card for my Mom! I made 2 similar cards yesterday, but, of course, I forgot to take pics before we delivered them to our wonderful grandparents! They were very cute!

On the inside I stamped "Happy Easter from a couple good eggs!" On yesterday's cards. I used foam tape to "pop" the eggs out, and I used some buttons, but I was afraid it might be too fat to mail, so I left those off. But I added the polka dot stamp on the background to give this one a little something special! I like it, and I know she will, too!

Now, off to the mailbox!!!!!

Ok, first things first....

Here is my card for this week! Nice easy sketch, loved it!

1. I haven't had a big mac since we broke up in January. It's been a long, hard time, but I feel great!

2. I still miss drinking Pepsi, but I know it makes me feel bad, so I am sticking with my first love...Sweet Tea!

3. I am starting a new challenge for April, but you'll have to tune in for my announcement tomorrow!

4. I am a scraplifter. That's right. I see great projects, and then i must make one for myself. Maybe this will eventually help me to come up with my own ideas, but for now, that's how it is. Don't worry though, I give credit to the original artists!!!

5. I dream of being able to be creative while getting paid for it. I so want to make this hobby into a career somehow. One day.....

6. I am so grateful for my friends (that's you!)! I don't tell them enough, but, I would never make it through the tough times without their support! THANKS!!!

7. (finally!) At one point in my life, my BFF & I were planning a business around lamp shades! That's right... lamp shades! We were gonna be the Shady Ladies, I still have the sketches!!! One day, we really will have to go into business, somehow!

Hi Y'all! I've been down south visiting with my family for the past few days! We got home last night, and I am still not sure how we survived so well with 2 little boys in the car for 12 hours!!! Thanks heavens for DVD players!

Here is my entry into this week's CPS sketch! the card is for my Sister-in-Law! It's her birthday next week, so I've got to get it right into the mail! There are so many birthdays right now it seems, which is good, no fake excuse needed to sit down for a few minutes each day to create!!!

I really love how it turned out! And I got to use buttons ~ always fun! Hope you like it!

Another Manic Monday!

So, I hope y'all had a nice weekend! I know I did, even if it went by too fast! But any weekend that you get to spend time with friends making cards & getting crafty is a great weekend! And then last night, ed went to sleep on the couch, and I thought "Now's my chance to get another card done!" So, I did! And I got to watch Grey's Anatomy, since Hubby doesn't like it! Double Joy!

So, I created a card for this week's sketch over at CPS. I had a lot less trouble this week, it really just came right together! And I love it! I think I will make more cards from this sketch this week!

I love the spring colors! And I used stickles! it was last minute, but I thought the tag needed something to make it stand out, and it really pops now!

Thank You Notepads

I made a couple of notepads for Andrew's teachers to thank them for thinking of me, and ordering the nuggets, which they loved! And are ordering more next month, Woohoo! SO, here are the notepads:

Pretty cute, huh? I used my new Papertrey Dark Chocolate Cardstock & I love it! It is so thick & fabulous! Also used some Wild Asparagus Paper from My Mind's Eye & Papertrey Dark Chocolate Ribbon & Ink. Love it all! I am making more this weekend, as well as cards that I need towards the end of the month. Gotta run! I think the boys are taking over my upstairs!

CPS Sketch & Some Nuggets!

Hi Y'all! I am so glad to be able to get on here today & share my crafts! So much fun! I have been busy trying to get the nuggets done early & to get a card done based on a sketch over at CPS. Since Beth is already entered (check it out, it's so cute!), I was really wanting to join in the fun!!! I wasn't crazy about the sketch at first, but I do love my final card! It will be going to someone very special!

None of my pics were very clear of the card, must work on that! I used My Mind's Eye paper, Papertrey Raspberry Fizz Ribbon, Ink & Cardstock along with New Leaf Ink & Cardstock. Also added some glitter & buttons from my stash!

On to the nuggets, I finished wrapping them up mere moments ago, and took a pic of some of them. I really want to start stamping them, but that requires $$$ to buy the stamps. Think that is where the money from this project will be going, after I add to it! Then maybe I'll open my Etsy Shop up & sell some stuff!

Anyway, I think they turned out cute! We'll have to just see where it leads me....

Ok, enough for one day, I know you don't want me to just ramble on all day! And I am sure there is someone getting into trouble upstairs....

I can't even believe that i am typing this, but I got my first paid order for something crafty! I am so excited!!!! It all began last month for Valentine's Day. I was inspired by a project over at Papertrey Ink, to make labels for candy bars. I never posted the pics, so here they are, along with Andrew's Valentine's for school...

I think they turned out really cute! I packaged 4 together for the teachers as you can see in the above photo. Well, today one of the teachers asked me about making some for a birthday party for a 1 year old this weekend! Of course, I ran right home to make a few examples to take with me when I picked Roo up, and they loved them!!!! I can't wait to get them together!!! And to make a little bit o' money while crafting!!!! LOVE it! It just shows that you never know what good things a day will bring...and that it's not always bad to get pulled aside by your son's teacher! WOOHOO! Ready to go into Business, Beth? Let's get it started!

Oh, and I am so planning on doing some cards this week, so stay tuned....

Remembering Rosalie

So, today we went to the funeral of Ed's Grandmom Rosalie. She was on of the sweetest little ladies that I have ever known. She welcomed me into this family with open arms. I have never heard her say a harsh word about anyone. More people should be like that, including myself. Also, she was so funny, she came up with the best one liners, usually at the expense of her only son, Ed's dad. It was extra cute to see her picking on him, because you knew it was out of love. We have not really had her with us mentally for several years, she had dementia pretty bad. It is so sad to have people taken away like that. We have missed her for quite some time, but are glad that now she is with her husband & her grandson, and all those loved ones that went before her.

We decided to get a few live flowers in remembrance of her, and that way we would be reminded of her whenever we see them. I made some cards for them, so that people would know who they came from at the service. Here is a pic....

Here is a close-up of one of the tags, sorry, it's a bit blurry! I love the dandelion stamps for so many occasions. Here, I was thinking of happy thoughts & wishes, then sending them out into the world with just a puff of air.

We had a great time earlier in the week, playing in the snow ~ in March! Crazy!!! Here is a pic of the boys all ready to go out & play wearing their beautiful (knitted-by-me) hats!!! Aren't they cute? The kids, not the hats!!!

One Last Chance...

So, here is my last entry into the Papertrey Contests for their anniversary! What a fun week I have had creating all these fun projects! I'm kinda sad it's over, except that I am very inspired! I can't wait to make more cards! This one is for my dear friend Kara, who is one of my "rescuers" this week! I am going to be making more thank you cards for the rest of my helpful team of friends later this week!

Ok, so I love this!!! There is yet another challenge going on over at Papertrey! Check it out! I am getting so much done with all my supplies, old & new! I am so excited! Wow! A new post 2 days in a row! Must be another contest! So, this is a card I made tonight while crafting with my girls. When Beth got here tonight she gave me a present...the cutest owl stamp ever! Some Sweet Treats!

So, I have been busy, but I am ready to get back into the swing! To start off February, I made this cute gift bag to enter into this contest:

I think it turned out really cute! I used a regular brown paper bag, and added some cute new paper, and some stamps! I am loving owls right now, and this was my first time using this stamp! So cute! I am going to use it for a gift for my buddy Kris, since I never gave her the Christmas present I bought, but never wrapped!! Talk about LATE!

On the other hand, I started a baby hat for my new 3rd cousin ~ Maria Isabelle ~ on Tuesday, and it was on the way to Alabama in the mail this very morning. Not only did I knit the hat, but I made a card and a wrap for the hat! I am actually quite proud of myself. Maybe I am finally getting it together! Yeah, right! Anyway, here is the pic:

Notice it is the same paper as the bag; I made these yesterday, and used scraps for the bag this morning! Yippee! Love being able to do that! I also LOVE clear buttons! They are so versatile ~ I used one on the card to make a coordinating button. I love how these turned out! I can't wait for someone else to have a baby! Well, I guess I could work on some hats for kids that are already here ~ like Ed! Promised him a hat, but I have made about 5 now, and not one for him! So sad!

Sorry for once again slacking in the blog! It has been a while since I could sit long enough to type a real entry. But, in thew meantime, I have been really busy getting crafty! Ed's hat became my hat, and it turned out really cute, but not perfect. It was my first hat, so I am still pleased with it, but don't have a pic yet. (My hair has not been "picture ready"!)

It is a good thing that Andrew's hair is picture ready though, since I have now made him a hat. Here's a cute pic:
I love it! It turned out so cute, or maybe it's the boy who is so cute! Must be a combination of the 2 things! Although Andrew says it is a little "itchy" but very warm! Casey's hat is one night away from being done, so I'll post a pic when I am done! Or maybe a few days after I'm done, anyway! Right, Kris?

Did I mention that I love when the Eagles play well & win their football games? Well, I do. And this is why: when they play well, my hubby is happy and I can get in some craft time! So, Sunday during the game, I got out Mod Podge, and got busy with some magazine organizers, and here's the result:

I love, love, love these! And it seems that I always need more! I keep thinking of new uses for them all around the house. The 2 on the right are for my kitchen, for all the food-based magazines, so maybe I can find them when I want them. Yeah, sure! The one on the left is a gift, I am sure you can tell who it's for! Not me, if that's what you're thinking, it's for my dear friend who loves purple as much now as she did 20 years ago! Hope she's not looking at the site today! Or any day before Saturday, when I am giving it to her! But, if she is....Steph, you're the Best!!! Hope you like it!

But my cell phone is now warm & cozy! After making these cell phone covers for a few family members during Thanksgiving, I finally got around to making one for my own phone! I am so excited! Now maybe it won't get so beat up in my purse. And I love this color far more than I thought that I would, thanks to hubby for giving it to me for Christmas! It matches my new Vera, and that is always good!

I also spent a good amount of time working on Ed's hat today. I took a very cute pic of him wearing the work-in-progress a few minutes ago, but I am sorry to say that he is not ready for internet fame, and has forbidden me to post it. Oh well. Guess y'all can see it when I am done.

I have stayed up far too late during these past few weeks, and so

I must now go get ready for an earlier bedtime in prep for the coming week. Wait...is 11:49 early or late??? I don't think I know anymore! At any rate, good night, my friends!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Our family surely did! And also, since I was away from my puter, we celebrated the coming of 2009! Happy New Year, Y'all! I am positive that 2009 will be a most wonderful year!

On to my crafting news...

I've been doing a whole lotta scrappin' this week! As a matter of fact, I scrapbooked right into the new year! You should bring in the new year doing something you love & hope to do more of in the coming year! I guess I should have been cleaning my house!!! Oh well, there's always 2010!

And tonight, I spent the evening teaching myself to knit with circular needles, since I should have been at Beth's house! Hope you had fun without me, though I can't see how!!! haha! So, Ed's hat is coming right along, pictures tomorrow! Then maybe I'll actually knit something for me. It seems as though I've neglected myself! I knitted all those sweet cell phone covers for my cousins, and my cell is still NAKED!!! **gasps** This is the week! The phone must have a new sweater!

Ok, obviously I am sleep deprived. Will post again tomorrow, with new pics & new un-foggy mind. That last bit is completely not guaranteed! Nite!

Another day, another fun project!

I loved those note pads so much yesterday, that I gave them all away today. I thought I'd just stop in to a store to pick some more up, but no. After a few stops with my crazy kids, I just went home without them. So sad! Now I have to go back to WM to get more, and I hate going there at Christmas.

This left me with the Date Books that I got a few weeks ago, but never got a chance to work on. I ran with it tonite, and I love them! I wish I could keep them all! But that really would be silly! Mostly because I'd probably write a different appointment in each book, and then I'd be really confused. You all know me, I don't need to make my life any more hectic or unorganized! So, I will be giving them out to my friends and family. Here's some pics!

I am really happy with these dollar store finds made over! It makes me so happy to get these things done. Usually I want to get things done, but they just gather dust for months... Hope y'all like them, too!

Tomorrow, I really have to get back to knitting, which seems like a less messy project. Maybe I can clean up all the scrappy stuff, and get the house ready for Ed to come back, and then sit and knit. Easier said than done!

And now, I am off to bed a full hour earlier than last night. Which isn't saying much, it's still very late! Maybe my kids will sleep in. Fat chance...

While the hubby is away...

...the wife will get crazy with the scrapbooking supplies! Christmas is coming rather quickly, and I've got way too many gifts to make! Too bad I can't share any pics of my main craft tonight, it's for my readers, all 3 of you! But I can share pics of the project that I found here, I just really had to make them!

I really love these little note pads, and they turned out just fabulous! I used 3"X 5" note pads, paper scraps that I had left from the secret things I was working on, some clear buttons that I glued to patterned paper, and some cute little letter stamps that I got for like 40 cents. Sweet! Should I give them as gifts, or keep them for myself???

OK, gotta get back upstairs to the scarf that I've been working on for too long now! It needs to be in the mail by the end of the week! Luckily Hubby is outta town until Friday, which means that it WILL get done! Think I'll try for another Cheesy Christmas movie! Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow!

Surprises are wonderful - well, when they are good anyway! And I had an extra good one tonight!

What a day! I am sitting here listening to my son whine in his crib, and it's 10 pm. I can not find a single paci, I guess today is the day to say good-bye. On second thought, maybe I should stop typing and search one more time...or maybe just finish wining myself. (And no, that was not a typo, I am referring to that box of wine that I mentioned earlier!)

I have just started a nice scarf for my sweetie pie sister-in-law. It is the softest chenille yarn, and I can't wait to actually work on one for myself. Maybe after Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, I was working on the scarf, and trying to watch a cheese ball Christmas movie. It was actually so bad, even I had to turn it off. What's up with that? Who knew Jennifer Grey had gotten so bad? Maybe someone should have put Baby in a corner, instead of in that movie... Maybe after Casey finally goes to sleep, I can find a new cheesy movie to watch while I knit.

Ok, the crying has gotten too loud for my hubby to sleep thru, so I must seek out a solution. Or a paci. Wish me luck!

Well, once you add in my other hobbies (scrapbooking & sewing, and any other craft that catches my eye), it might actually cost more than psychiatric help, but it sure is prettier & I can keep it forever!

I have been scrapbooking & sewing for a few years, but just last month, I learned how to knit! (Thanks Beth!) I am still learning, of course, but having fun making scarves for everyone, like the ones I made for my Mama and her dog, Roxy...aren't they so cute?!?

I can't wait to get into things like hats, socks, and all that other cool stuff, but I think I am off to a good start. Hopefully, I can keep track of my knitty progress, and add pics of my masterpieces before I give them away! So far, this is the only picture of a finished project that I have actually remembered to take. (And I only remembered this one because of sweet little Roxy Girl!) Must try to do better! So, stay tuned to see more about my knitty scrappy life!
